Adopted greyhound, trying to think of a name?

I adopted a dog too and would never even think of changing her name regardless if I didn't like it or not. Doesn't the dog respond to his name though? Won't it be confusing for the poor thing moving to a new home and having to get used to a new name? Maybe you could just change the name a little if you need to make it easier.
