What was this persons name, famous Afghan soldier?

OK, my details may be a little bit vague here but I'll fill in what I can. I heard about him first on National Geographic channel a few months back, when a journalist went to Afghanistan to basically retrace an earlier expedition he did years ago. On the first trip he met somebody, "Mousat, Moussat?" something along those lines, he was a renowned soldier in Afghanistan, highly respected by all. There's books of photos of him in caves and war grounds. When he died he was preparing to give an interview to some "journalists" who turned out to be suicide bombers. I'd really love to learn more about him but can't seem to remember his name or find it on the Nat Geo site. Anybody know who he is?
