Has my family been recently cursed?

i know it sounds silly, but i seriously believe that recently my family has been cursed, all in the same month, near christmas, things have been happened, boiler breaks when it snows, christmas lights die, iron breaks, my dog gets ill, car breaks, tv breaks, my neighbor is getting mean shouting over the fence at me and my sister to shut my dog up when she barks funnily enough when my mum isnt there. I'm getting kind of scared now, are there such things as curses? if so, how would i get rid of it?
