Is this a little too paranoid...?

I just recently got diagnosed with epilepsy and complex partial seizures that are steadily getting worse over time. My neurologist is working on trying different medicines, but the medicine I've just been put on can be extremely dangerous if it doesn't work with my body... I'm quite nervous to be honest. They say I could easily be sent to the hospital. I don't want to sound negative as though I were trying to doom myself, but would I be too paranoid (for lack of better word) if I had a bag/backpack of things ready in case I do have to go?
