My 17 year old daughter moved away from me earlier this year?

and now lives in a town about 100 miles away from me, and she had a baby girl on August 13. Her boyfriend and I don't get along, and I have been told I can't see my granddaughter, but my daughter's 18th birthday is this Sunday, and I want to take a ride out there on Saturday and surprise her for her 18th birthday. Is this a good idea?
